In Memory of Drew Strizik, 1969 – 2007

Drew’s friends gathered on Saturday, November 3rd to celebrate his life and what he meant to all of us. Drew and Gina DeKort came to Santa Cruz one month before the earthquake in September 1989 and he shook up the photography scene with his unique approach to capturing the world around him. He went to school at UCSC and worked lived and played in Santa Cruz. Drew loved it here and he helped everyone who asked with their Photography needs. He was also very involved in organizing local photographers in developing a photography studio at the Tannery Arts Center. Gina, his girlfriend and his Mother and Father, Elaine and Herb Strizik have asked that we set up a fund for people who wish to donate to the Tannery Arts Center in memory of Drew. We have done so and if you want to make a donation send your check made out to the “Tannery Arts Center” and noting it is for the Drew Strizik Fund, to the Tannery Arts Center 337 Locust St. Santa Cruz, CA 95062. We will acknowledge your gift and let Gina and Drew’s folks know that you have remembered Drew in this way.
